Suhail Khan is a self-described “life-long Reagan conservative” and long-time operative within the Republican party who currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Conservative Union (ACU), the organization which hosts the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C. As such he is an influential gatekeeper regarding which issues and speakers will be involved in CPAC, the most important gathering of American conservatives on the political calendar.
Unfortunately, Khan’s statements, associations and actions belie his “conservative” credentials:
- He has made radical statements that appear to reflect the most dangerous elements of Shariah-adherent ideology that enable the pre-violent “civilization jihad” to undermine the American system, and give ideological cover to violent jihadist terrorists.
- He has been mentored by and associated with convicted terrorists including al-Qaeda financier Abdulrahman Alamoudi and Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Sami Al-Arian. His parents were pioneers and founders of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States through proven Muslim Brotherhood front groups such as the Muslim Students Association (MSA), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
- Suhail Khan’s positions on national security, Islam and terrorism are completely divergent from the conservative mainstream. He appears perennially on leftist and anti-American media outlets as an accessory to the propagation of their worldview, and has fought against important anti-terrorism measures such as the admissibility of secret evidence in terrorist prosecutions.
